This Earth

Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the Triassic in the Southwest, a project with the Petrified Forest Museum Association. This book looks at the Colorado Plateau and the American Southwest around 200 million years ago, during the beginning of the reign of the dinosaurs, when the massive trees of the Petrified Forest lived. It will examine the regional setting and flora and fauna, as well as the geological background for understanding this story. Written for the interested layperson, this book will have many colorful illustrations of the ancient creatures and ecosystems of the region, as well as maps and diagrams to help bring the story to life. Tentatively due in 2008.
